I frequently initiate two-sided scanning from the touch-screen on the machine.

The result is that the second, fourth, sixth, ... page(s) are ALWAYS upside down.

Where / how can I set either the scanner or the computer to stop this happening? Please ...

Thanks

@scampo2012, It's great to hear from you again.

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.

Did you try to scan using HP smart app?

As you mentioned the steps I suggested does not imply to your query.

I have checked the records and we have to change the scan settings from your MAC. And it is not possible to change the scan settings from the printer control panel.

You can download HP smart app on your MAC from the app store. Try scanning again and check if it helps.

Refer this article to know more information about using HP smart app.

Also, I found a solution recommended by an apple expert. Try the steps recommended by the link and let me know if it helps.

Please refer this link from Apple discussion to know more information.

Also, If the issue persists please share a picture of the scan settings on your MAC.

Hi! @scampo2012, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have issues scanning a two-sided document from your printer.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Have you installed a duplexer on your printer?

Have you placed the paper correctly into the ADF?

Try the steps recommended below.

As you mentioned when you scan a two-sided document from your printer, the second, fourth and sixth page scans upside down.

Try updating the printer firmware and check if it helps.

Link to update the printer firmware.

Note: Use a windows 10 64bit PC and install the printer firmware.

Also, refer this video link to scan duplex from the software using this link.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps try performing a semi-full reset on your printer.

Since the steps to perform semi-full reset is confidential, I will send you the steps in a private message.

Please watch your inbox for more information.

Thanks, but this didn't really address my problem.

Firstly, I'm using a Mac.

Secondly, the video relates to initiating the scan from software on the computer, while my problem is with scans initiated from the printer/scanner.

Thirdly, the firmware update link is to a Windows file.

About the questions in your message:

- no, no changes have been made to the printer

- yes, it has a duplexer

- yes, the paper is correctly placed in the sheet feeder.

The problem seems to be that the scanner sends the alternate pages upside down - there must be a setting to control that.
