Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

HP Smart Tank Wireless 455
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just downloaded the latest update for the HP Smart Tank 455 and cannot figure out how to Scan to computer. I’ve tried everything possible, it was all good before the update but now having problems. Tried the HP Print & Scan Doctor 5.1 which is as slow as the second coming to no avail. Why we can’t just click on Scan and be done with it I don’t know, why make things DIFFICULT!!!!

HELP PLEASE

Here's all you need to know and do about scanning on your windows device:

Install the HP Smart app, and then add your printer.

  1. On your Windows 10 device, go to HP Smart (in English) to get the app from the Windows Store, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app.

The app searches for printers connected to the network.

  2. Add the printer to your network.

    • If you have one printer connected to the network, the app automatically selects your printer. If you have more than one printer on the network, click the printer icon , click Select a Different Printer, and then select your printer from the list.

      Selecting a printer

    • If you are setting up a new printer on the network, click the plus sign , click Set up a new printer, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. If you have more than one printer on the network and want to set up a new printer, click the plus sign , click Add printer not listed, click Set up a new printer, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
