Product: HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15m-ed0023dx

I have an HP Envy x360 and an HP Office Jet Pro 6978.  I have been successfully scanning documents using  the HP smart app on my laptop.  I  would  then share the document via email.  I've had to work from home over the past few days and I've not been able to "share" scanned documents via email.  I have three email accounts I can choose from when selecting the "sender" email address.  It doesn't make a difference which account I choose to send the email from  or the email address I send it to as the email just continues to circle in send mode and then stops without the email being sent.  I have not had this problem in the past.  What's going on?
