Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

In trying to scan to my OfficeJet Pro 9015e inkjet printer from my MacBook Air running MacOS Monterey 12.1,  I have been unable to log in to HP Smart. The app opens, but when I hit the scan button, I receive a request to log in. When I hit the Log In button, all I get is a spinning blue band and no way to actually input information. I have tried reloading the HP Smart app, but that has made no difference. Please help. This is crippling.

I already have an account with a successfully installed printer. That was not the problem. I was unable to get a log in screen on HP Smart. But tonight the problem seems to have resolved. I was finally able to bring up the log in screen on HP Smart and sign on. I also downloaded the HP Easy Scan app as backup. Thank you for responding.

Hello,

To scan or print with the HP Smart application, you need to log in with an HP account.

Please use HP Easy Start to install your printer.

The following document are for your reference to scanning:

 

If you are on macOS and the issue persists, please use HP Easy Scan to scan.
