Have HP Office Jet Pro 8030 Series printer. I Have HP app installed on Windows 10 PC. When I click on scan tile in app I receive the following error message
"Either printer does not have a scanner or HP Smart cannot use the scanner in the printer"
This HP printer does have a scanner and it works OK if I scan from the printer control panel, just not from the app.

@Al2121, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I see that you have issues with HP App while scanning, this could be an issue with the app configuration. Try to uninstall and reinstall the app from Microsoft store. Add the printer and try scanning.
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
I’d also suggest using the HP Scan and Capture to scan from your PC. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/p/hp-scan-and-capture/9wzdncrfhwl0?activetab=pivot:overviewtab to download and install the HP Scan and Capture app on your PC.
HP Scan and Capture is a simple and fun application that captures photos or documents from any HP scanning device or your computer's built-in camera. These images can be previewed, edited, saved, and shared with other applications. Here are the detailed instructions on how to use the app: http://hp.care/2nZfg1K
You can also use the HP Scan feature which comes with the HP printer drivers that are installed on your PC.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Uninstalling and reinstalling app did not help and the printer firmware was already up to date. The HP scan and capture app will not work for me since I have no camera on my PC. I did find however that the HP scan feature works perfectly , and I am OK with using that as an alternative to HP Smart for scanning purposes.
