Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have an HP Scanjet G4050.  The scanning software CD is not compatible to my Windows 8.1 operating system.  I have not been able to locate and load an updated version of the scanning software.  I have been on the HP website but seem to be running around in circles and not getting anywhere. Anyone know how to solve this problem?  Thx.
