Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan

LaserJet 3101fdw

Hi,

I just purchased a Surface Laptop 7 with Snapdragon ARM chip and an disappointed to see that the HP Smart and HP Scan software is incompatible with my HP LaserJet 3101fdw multifunction printer. While I got the printer to work with the driver, the Scan and Fax software does not, and that significantly reduces the utility of the printer since certain functions are not maximized.

The ARM chips have been out for a number if months now and seems left that HP still hasn't come out with an update to make the software work.

A few questions:

1. When will HP come out with ARM-compatible versions of the HP Smart and HP Scan Software?

2. What do you recommend using now for scan software as an interim solution until the official HP software is updated? The Scan software that comes with Windows 11 is severely lacking!

3. Are there work arounds to get the software to work?

** I installed the universal print driver and the printer prints but I want a more robust HP software to control the Scan and Fax functions from my laptop **

For scanning you could try using Webscan or scanning to a USB memory stick. The user guide provides several scanning options not dependent on the HP software. https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_5512113_en-US-1.pdf

By right, HP should update their software to ARM-based or at least have it be compatible with ARM hardware. Seems lazy on they part
