Product: Microsoft Surface 3 10.8 inch touch screen
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Surface 3 with latest updates from Microsoft Windows 64 bit does not have TWAIN or WIA drivers to recognize HP Laser Jet 3390 when connected directly with Printer using USB cable. Installed Microsoft scan software but the app does not recognize connected scanner.  The laser Jet printer is connected to home network using Ethernet cable and static IP and gateway. Surface 3 can print to the printer but not scan.

As quoted a solution for Enterprise, it did not work. HP Scan software could not detect USB or IP address. HP Lase Jet 3390 is not a wireless printer and so wireless connect is also ruled out.

Hi,

Have you tried installing the latest USB Dot 4 driver for the printer?

Also, did you install any driver or connected the printer to your PC? installing UPD as an example will install a printing driver only, not any scan capabilities.. what options are listed under Programs and Features when you search for HP?

My HP AIO Envy 20-d030xt  computer with Windows 10 Pro is able to see the scanner using WIA: HP Laser Jet 3390 Scanner, but  my Surface 3 tablet using USB cable under the same network, does not connect to the scanner. Is there a possibility to copy the settings in AIO PC for WIA? If so where should i look for in AIO Pc?
