Product: HP Officejet 6970 and 8600
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A recent software update replaced HP Scan with HP Smart.  The scanning feature took a step backward as it doesn't include an option to automatically open the PDF after the scan is saved to check the content and quality of the scan. 

 

I discovered that by use the HP Print and Scan Doctor, after runing through the scan diagnostics, selecting run Test Scan will open HP Scan with all of its features.  Is anyone aware of a way to open up HP Scan by itself?

Hi,

Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Your printer model\Bin and double click HP Scan to launch it.

 

You may also right click it and select Send to > Desktop to create a shortcut for later use.

HP Recommended

I have HP 6968. Control Panel says its 6960. When I go into HP/Officejet 6960 and run hpscan, it says it can't find Officejet 6960.
