Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I usually use HP Smart to start scanning.  It recent started telling me that the printer status was unknown and would not let me start.  If I press the scan button on the printer the dialogue box comes up fine and I can scan.  How do I fix HP Smart?

Hi,

Right-click the printer icon within HP Smart and select Forget Printer.

Now click the plus sign and follow the steps to reconfigure your printer.

 

May you see any difference?

 

If the same persists, try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

 

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.
