Getting a vertical line when scanning using automatic document feeder. Using the bottom manual bed scan does not produce the line. Since the ADF has its own scanning element I decided to replace the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) with a New HP unit. This was quite a challenge and took 2 hours but was successful. To my dismay the line still occurs!! The only other option is the Control Board. I searched for a new control board but was not successful. Not sure what else to do. I really like this printer and it is one that will do automatic double sided scans. When it does the double sided scans the vertical line shows on one side only. BUMMER.

I thought I had cleaned this but I guess I did not bare down enough. Also I used some cleaning solution. The mark was very hard to see unless I looked at it from about a 45 degree angle. BUT, that was it! I thought the top ADF right above this was the "scanner" element. But I guess it is just a light?? Anyway THANK YOU. I now have a clean scan from the ADF.
