Very Slow to display scanning interface

I have just purchased a new HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 printer / scanner etc. It is connected via Wi-Fi.  When initiating a scan from my computer with Twain driver from clicking scan in my Paperport 14.7 Pro software it is taking 13 seconds for the scanning interface to appear which feels very slow. Is this because the connection is WI-FI?  Is there anything I can change to improve things because waiting that amount of time between every document I want to scan makes progress very slow.

Any advice much appreciated. Would having it connected by USB speed things up?
