Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I have updated my OfficeJet 8620 to the latest firmware and drivers already trying to solve this.  No luck.

The issue occurs when doing a web scan to a .PDF file using the ADF.   The PDF file that shows up in the web browser (I've tried Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge - all produce the same error).

When the scanned PDF document appears in the web browser, sometimes it is blank, or if it is not, when I save the PDF from the web browser to a file, and open it with Acrobat DC on my computer, it produces an error that says error reading stream.   If I send the PDF files to anyone else, the PDF is blank when they open it.

I have tried opening the PDF with other PDF -capable apps, and they all seem to have the same problem reading the PDF file generated by the web scan on my OfficeJet 8620.   Error reading stream.

Hi @PR_HP_59,

I'd like to help!

Are you make copies using the ADF?

Have you tried scanning other file formats?

Have you tried opening the PDF files using a browser to check ?

Keep me posted.

I am not making copies using the ADF.   I am simply scanning an already printed document to a new .PDF file using the ADF and the webscan option in a web browser.

If you are using the ADF and webscan, you CANNOT SELECT a different file format to scan to.   The webscan option only lets you select PDF as a file format.   You have to change the ADF to the GLASS option to scan to a different file format, which doesn't let you scan more than one page at a time.   Scanning one page through the ADF to a .PDF file seems to work fine.   It's only when scanning multiple pages that the issue occurs.

Opening a multi-page PDF document (created by scanning to a PDF with the webscan feature) in a web browser sometimes (but not always) opens normally.

What the operating system on your computer?

Have you tried scanning using HP Smart or HP software?
