We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

For no apparent reason, a scanned document will not print.  When I select print, the icon shows up as blank pages and when it prints the pages are all blank!  I have been working all morning, printing out perfectly fine with no issues until I only have 4 more documents to scan and print!!  Help!

Hi @SuLolly2U

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I can imagine how frustrating it feels to have everything working smoothly all morning, only to suddenly face blank pages when you’re so close to finishing. Thank you for sharing the details—it helps narrow down the situation.

Let’s go step by step to bring your scanned documents back to printing properly.

Step 1: Verify the Scan File

  • Open the scanned document on your computer before printing.
  • Check if the content is visible in the preview. If the file itself shows blank pages, the issue is with the scan rather than the print.

Step 2: Re‑scan One Page

  • Place a single page on the scanner glass.
  • Use the HP App to scan and save as PDF.
  • Open the file and confirm the text or image is visible.
  • Try printing this test file.

Step 3: Check Print Settings

  • When printing, ensure the correct printer is selected.
  • In the print dialog, confirm that Print in grayscale or Print as image is not accidentally enabled.
  • Make sure the page range is set to “All” or the correct pages.

Step 4: Clear Print Queue

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Locate Print Spooler, right‑click and select Stop.
  3. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files inside.
  4. Return to services.msc, right‑click Print Spooler, and select Start.
  5. Try printing again.

Step 5: Run Diagnose & Fix

  • Open the HP App.
  • Select your printer, then go to Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Follow the guided steps to check for driver or communication issues.

Step 6: Update Printer Firmware

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
  • Allow the printer to check for and install updates.
  • Restart the printer after the update.

These steps usually resolve cases where scanned documents appear blank when printed. The key is to confirm whether the scan file itself has content and then refresh the print system if needed.
