We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Error Message: A required software component was not found or was improperly installed.  I have reinstalld from website seven (7) times and still get Error Code: 8,[(4,-2147221005,0)].  I don't have startup disc.  Printer was given to me.

Hi,

Is the printer connected with a USB or wirelessly?

 

Try following HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting Fix Scanning and check if that may help:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

 

If the same persists, you may also try HP Scan Extended and check if you may scan using this application instead:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Thanks for the info.  I downloaded both of them. I tried to scan after each download.  Now it keeps saying to upgrade the LCD List.  I say ok, get a new screen, tell it to save as a jpeg, tried scanning again and the need to upgrade keeps coming up.  I'm on Windows 10, andwhen I received the printer from a friend, I immediately hooked to internet and downloaded from HP, but I have tried scanning for 7 months with no results. After downloading the two files you sent me, I turned it off and did a restart.I just tried scanning from the HP Solutions Center and got the same ERROR CODE.  Is there not a fix for this situation?  It is most aggravating and frustrating since I'm trying to scan and make JPEG files of my Father's WWII pictures that are on loan and need to return them to my Mother.
