Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Is there any way that I can use my HP D110 printer on a new Windows 11 device WITHOUT creating/using an account in HP Smart?

Hi @gregburneske

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

You do not necessarily need an HP account to use your HP Deskjet D110 printer on your new Windows 11 device, but there are some features and conveniences provided by HP (such as HP Smart app integration, remote printing, etc.) that require you to be signed in with an HP account. Here’s how to manage your printer without creating or using an HP account:

1. Use Basic Printer Features Without HP Smart

You can set up and use your HP Deskjet D110 printer without an HP account by following these steps:

Install the Printer Driver:

  • Go to the HP Support website for your HP Deskjet D110.
  • Download and install the driver and software for your printer that is compatible with Windows 11.
  • During the installation, you’ll be prompted to connect your printer either via USB or wirelessly. Choose the appropriate method for your setup.
  • You don’t need to sign in or create an HP account for basic printing or scanning.

Windows Print Settings:

  • After the printer is installed, you can go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners in Windows 11.
  • Select your printer, and you can print documents directly from there without needing HP Smart or an account.

2. Avoid HP Smart App:

  • If you don’t want to use HP Smart, simply avoid downloading or installing it.
  • HP Smart offers additional features like remote printing, scanning, and ink management, but these features are optional. You can use your printer directly through Windows settings without the app.
  • If you've already installed HP Smart, you can still use your printer without logging in. Simply skip the account sign-in step when prompted.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

This device is not directly supported by HP for Windows 10 or 11 so you will have to install a Microsoft Windows driver. Instructions on this page https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-photosmart-e-all-in-one-printer-series-d110/4023244

You may also find you have only print functions and no scanning functions other than copying.
