HP officejet pro 8600 plus
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Please help.  No one answers the phone to customer service.  I've waited days for a followup call...nothing.  My scanner works fine, but for some reason with all the windows 10 updates, hp smart, etc etc etc, it doesn't connect.  went through all of the virtual help steps and nothing works anymore.

Uninstalled 3 times.  Updated drivers, software, reinstalled, used hp doctor 6+ times to do the same thing over and over.  NOTHING.  I used to be able to hit my printer icon on my desktop and it would open and i would be able to use wizard, or see scan to computer, or fax, or print.  But now, its different.

Very frustrated with HP and with Windows 10

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you using the HP Smart App on your PC? If not, you may try and install to see if that works: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675142. If yes, uninstall and reinstall it.

If the issue still persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

I did not do the 2nd option you listed...tired of uninstalling procedures...

just sent you a previous email re: HP smart

I need to be able to utilize the print option  from the ellipsis on my phone.  For whatever reason this is not working and it should

This did not work.  My printer prints from my computer,  My scanner scans to my computer.  But, my computer says my scanner is not online from the HP Smart app even though it says the printer is online on the print part of the HP Smart app.  Because of that I can't request a scan from my computer.  This is a new problem within the last few months.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times I can't count.

Are you referring to ePrint? Please check this: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03721293
