How can I connect Wireless to this MFP M28W?

 

The Wireless button is blinking 

I see the MFP on wireless

When I want to connect through Wifi, I'm asked for the 8 characters password (12345678) but it is not working

I also appreciate that "how can we change this pwd" needs to be included in the instructions

The proposed solution implies an Android smartphone

 

As I'm on Win 10, I already used the HP "Smart" application of Windows and the printer is off line.

If I go on "Information on that printer", I get Status Off line with no reaction if I press the refresh

Status of installation : Installed

Type of connection : Network

Status of connection : Inactive 

 

Through this Windows HP smart app, I don't get the "connect printer to Wifi" as at 2'30" of the video

Hi,

 

Try to restore wireless connections back to default.

 

1. Forget printer on HP Smart (on computer) 

2. After that, try to use HP Smart to discover and add the printer again. 

 

Once the printer is added on HP Smart, it should work.

 

Recommend downloading and installing the HP FULL featured software, it has more HP Scan features.

Hi

 

The wireless network is now on.

How do I switch the printer port from USB to Wireless?

I tried to follow the instructions of the manual : Start HP LJ Mfp m28 m31, then went to tools, then Config  then turn in rounds ...

Always want me to reinstall and then stop on the screen asking to connect with an USB cable. I can't pass this, even if the usb cable is connected

Were you able to connect the printer to WIreless  network using HP Smart?

 

If the printer is already connected, when you install the HP FULL featured software, you should select Wireless and not USB.

Yes I was able to connect the printer to the wireless network

However, I can't change the connection to wireless using the full features software

If you are connected via USB on the HP FULL featured software, then please watch this video on how to convert USB to Wireless.

It is now a day that I'm trying to get this printer to work and the explainations so far are not helping

 

Summary

 

The installation was NOT completed. It stopped when I had to provide my postal code

Despite this I saw the software installed

Yesterday, your explaination allowed me to turn on the Wireless connection and to connect the printer to WiFi.

Using my iPhone I was able to print wireless

 

I cannot do this from my Win 10 computer ! 

I can connect to this printer but then no way to print

 

I have as software installed HP Print & Scan doctor but this does not allow me to connect anymore. It keeps on asking me to connect the USB cable even if it is connected

I have the HP LJ MFP M28 software but this is behaving the same way

 

Can someone address this !

After the restore wireless network and new connection, were you able to use the HP Smart on Win 10?

 

Regarding the HP FULL featured software, if it's not installed properly, then try to Uninstall and Reinstall again.

 

This video example will show you how.
