Yellow exclamation mark on phone icon on control panel of printer

The phone icon on my Officejet Pro 8720 has a yellow triangle with an exclamation. The phone works fine, the fax function works fine. Since everything is working fine, why is there an exclamation mark on the phone icon on the printer's control panel? What should I do to remove it? Thanks for your help.

Hello Riddle,

According to Scott in the printer warranty tech dept in the Philippines, the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark over the phone icon on the control panel of the Officejet Pro 8720 indicates noise on the phone line. Scott came to this conclusion since the fax function was working fine as was everything else. So, unless it presents a problem, I plan to ignore it. If a problem arises, I will contact Bell Canada for support, as there have been problems on the line before. But thanks for your quick response to my post.
