Hi @soxfan61669,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To address the issue with your HP 6978 All-in-one printer/scanner/fax only outputting the last page when using the auto document feeder, and to remove previous computers showing as options, you can try the following steps.

Check Scanner Settings:

  • Make sure that your scanner settings are configured correctly. Check if there's an option to scan multiple pages into a single document rather than individual pages.

Software Update:

  • Ensure that your printer's software and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause issues with scanning.

Check ADF Settings:

  • Ensure that the auto document feeder settings are configured properly. There may be an option to specify whether to scan single-sided or double-sided documents.

Scanner Software:

  • Utilize the scanning software that came with your printer. HP often provides scanning software with their printers that may offer more advanced settings for scanning multiple pages.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Sometimes, a paper jam or misalignment in the auto document feeder can cause scanning issues. Check for any obstructions or jams in the feeder mechanism.

Reset Printer:

  • Try resetting your printer to its default settings. This can sometimes resolve software glitches that may be causing the scanning problem.

Regarding the issue of several previous computers showing as options, this typically happens when the printer has been connected to multiple devices in the past. To remove these old computer entries, you can follow these general steps.

Printer Control Panel:

  • Navigate through the printer's control panel menus to find options related to connected devices or network settings. Look for an option to manage connected devices or remove old entries.

Printer Software on Computer:

  • Sometimes, the list of connected devices is stored on your computer as well. Check the printer software installed on your computer for options to manage connected devices or remove old entries.

HP Smart App:

  • If you're using the HP Smart app to manage your printer, you may find options within the app to manage connected devices or remove old entries.

Printer Web Interface:

  • Access your printer's web interface through a web browser by entering its IP address. From there, you may find options to manage connected devices or remove old entries.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the scanning issue with your HP 6978 printer and remove old computer entries from the printer's memory.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
