I tried to scan today for the first time. I got the error message unable to communicate with the scanner. It says try the following 1. Turn the printer off then on again. 2. check cables. 3. verifty that that the scan feature is enables. I don't know what that means? Did the other 2 and still not scanning. Pleas help.
Thanks, Debbie

Did the information I suggested the last time you contacted us regarding the wireless connectivity issue help?
To fix the scan issue, try to check the copy function. If copy works fine, try the steps below:
Step 1: Run the Print and Scan Doctor
Step 3: Check Windows Image Acquisition settings
For instruction: Click here
If issue persists, create a Manual Connection for Your Networked HP Printer and disable IPv6. Follow the steps below:
Open the embedded web server (EWS)
(NOTE: To open the embedded web server through a network:
From the printer control panel, Press the Wireless button and the Information button together to print the network configuration page.
Find out the IP address of the printer from the network configuration page.
In a supported web browser on your computer, type the IP address.
For example, if the IP address is 192.168.0.12, type the following address into a Web browser: http://192.168.0.12.)
Click the Network or Networking tab, and then open the section or page for your network type: wired or wireless.
Click Manual IP.
If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.
If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.
Click Apply, and then wait until the changes are confirmed.
On the Network or Networking tab, and then open Network protocol under general
Select Enable IPv4 only (or similar)
Click Apply, and then wait until the changes are confirmed.
Restart the Printer and try to scan again.
Keep me posted.
