We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Worked fine for several years now, suddenly no preview or won't scan to the computer. HP help doesn't recognize my question. Error says "scanning was cancelled from the scanner.

I understand that you are facing an issue with your scanner, I am glad to assist you
 

Use the HP Scan Extended app to scan and check if that helps.

Click here to download the app. 

 

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

 

If the issue persists, perform a clean reinstallation of pre-installed HP drivers

  1.  In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 
  2.  Select your HP Printer 
  3.  Select Uninstall 
  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’ 
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo. 
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”) 
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab 
  9.  Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 
  10.  Select Ok 
  11.  Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 
  12.  Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

 

Try scanning.

So there are a couple suggestions and if you were like me nothing was plain on here, if you want to scan from the printers control panel, You have to install HP Easy start, there will be an option while installing to enable scan from printers control panel. (this worked for me because that's what i wanted to do.) If you have easy start installed then some have reported that the scan to computer was de activated some how and You have to go in your printers admin settings from the smart app and enable scan to computer then save.

if you just want to start a scan from your computer or phone then the HP smart app is the way to go. It seems silly but I would have to reboot my computer for the scan from the computer using the smart app would work. Another option I have used is re- installing the smart app.

tried with HP easy start but did not work. Many of us are experiencing the same problem: scanner in all-in-one printers not working since april 26. HP and/or Microsoft should find the solution!
