I cannot get the test email to send from my HP MFP X585. I followed instructions in prior posts.

 

Error message: SMTP gateway not responding

??   "Prior posts" could be just about anything.  Smiling.

 

Could be nothing more wrong than having entered the wrong smtp port information.

If the printer is on the network, use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to mange / configure the printer.

Configuration options vary widely by printer model.

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
