I've gone to the "Scan to Email" tab on my printer page in my browser, i've entered smtp server smtp.**bleep**.com, tried ports 567 and 465 (and tried checking & unchecking "always use secure connection"; i've gone to my **bleep** account, and obtained an "app password" (16 digits assigned to the device "HP scanner"), entered my **bleep** account username@**bleep**.com and the app password ... i keep getting the error "cannot resolve smtp server". Sure hope someone can help, thanks! The Bleeps are g m a i l

Hi,
A such may occur due to any connectivity issue.
Let's try setting a manual DNS for the printer and see if that may help.
Let's access the EWS page of the printer by browsing its IP address from a computer connected to the same network.
Open the Network Tab and select Network Identification.
Set the primary DNS IPv4 address as 8.8.8.8
Set the Secondary DNS IPv4 address as 8.8.4.4
Restart the printer and test the configured SMTP outgoing profile once again within the Scan tab > Scan to Email, and check if you may see any difference then.
Always use secure connection need to be checked with either port 465 or 567.
Please let me know if that may make any difference.

hi , thanks- printer already has a fixed IP address in the home network, and i can access the page on a computer on the network. That's how i've been trying to set up the "scan to email" feature; i've specified secure connection, and i've tried both ports 465 and 567.. I did finally figure out how to get an app password in google, and have tried that in the Scan to Email page, but i'm still getting the "cannot resolve smtp server" error. i have tried using the app password with my full email login, and also just the first part of my email (before the @ part).
i have given up trying to get this to work. i can scan using scan to usb, to computer, and to network folder, i just wanted to try to get the scan to email working because sometimes the network folder method (frankly, my preferred method) doesn't work. So, everything works except for the parts that don't (the scan to email).
