Hi @prakelt,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it can be when your HP printer won’t scan and save to your Mac, especially when everything else seems to be working fine. Let’s walk through the steps to get scanning working again on macOS 15.0 Sequoia.

Recommended Fixes

1. Update the HP App

HP has released a new HP app.

2. Disable iCloud Backup in the HP app

This can interfere with saving scans locally.

  • Open the HP app
  • Click the Settings icon on the home screen
  • Under App Settings, click Back up to iCloud
  • Disable the feature
  • When prompted, select Keep on my Mac

Now, try scanning again and save the file to a local folder.

3. Use the Correct Scan Workflow

Here’s how to scan and save properly:

  1. Place your document on the scanner glass or in the ADF.
  2. Open the HP app and click Printer Scan.
  3. Choose your scan type (Document, Photo, etc.).
  4. Adjust settings like Paper Size, Input Source, Resolution, and Color.
  5. Click Scan.
  6. On the Detect Edges screen, adjust if needed, then click Next.
  7. On the Preview screen, edit or rotate if needed.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Choose File Name, File Type, and Save Location on your Mac.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
