Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Someone please help.  I have Windows 10 and have Epson 7155 Envy printer.  I downloaded the Epson printer app so I could adjust the settings as I was told by howtogeek.com to change dpi from 300 to 600 for producing the best quality photos.  My husband died and I want to scan a bunch of his pictures on the printer and save them and have them printed out by Staples or wherever.  For example there are several photos I have placed on a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper.  I am going to scan the page, send it to my email or place on a thumbdrive and take to Staples and have them print the page off. I am printer stupid as well as computer stupid, so if anyone knows of a better way of doing it, please feel free to help me.  On the printer itself I could find no setting, buttons etc to dealt with changing the dpi setting.  When I'm scanning, the printer asks what size I am scanning 5x7, 8x10 etc and  if I am scanning a photo or document and I say photo and the info on the picture scanned says dpi is 300.    I have multiple pages with photos on them only and some pages have text and photos both.   I need to get them scanned, copied or whatever so I can place in tribute books for the kids, grandkids, relatives.  Thank you.

I told you I was computer and printer stupid and listed by printer as an Epson 7155 in my previous post, so correction it is an HP 7155 Envy.

Hi @Bompa717,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To change the DPI (dots per inch) setting on an HP printer through the app, you can follow these steps.

  • Open the HP Smart app on your smartphone or tablet.
  • Select the printer that you want to change the DPI setting for.
  • Tap on the "Settings" icon (gear icon) in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  • Scroll down and select "Advanced Settings."
  • Tap on "Print Quality" and select "DPI."
  • Select the desired DPI setting from the options provided. The available DPI settings may vary depending on your printer model.
  • Tap "Save" to apply the changes.

Once you've changed the DPI setting, you can start printing from the app as usual. Keep in mind that higher DPI settings will generally result in higher print quality, but they may also increase the print time and use more ink or toner.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
