Hi @goingsouth20,

Please find the next steps below.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • If your printer is connected wirelessly, ensure that it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Use the printer's control panel to navigate to the network settings and confirm or re-enter your Wi-Fi credentials.

Reinstall the Printer Software:

  • If you haven't already, uninstall the printer software from your computer and reinstall it using the latest version available on the HP support website.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. This tool can help diagnose and resolve common printing issues.

If the problem continues after trying these steps, it may be a good idea to contact HP phone support for further assistance, as there could be a hardware issue with the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @goingsouth20,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It seems like there may be a connection issue between the printer and the new cartridges after switching from the Instant Ink program. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the new cartridges you purchased are compatible with the HP Officejet 4635 printer. Use original HP cartridges if possible.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if it connects to the cartridges.

Reset Printer Settings:

  • Go to the printer's control panel and navigate to the setup or tools menu.
  • Look for an option to reset the printer to factory defaults. This can sometimes resolve configuration issues after changing cartridges.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the cartridges and inspect the metal contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.
  • Use a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab slightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the contacts.
  • Allow everything to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. If you have access to the HP Smart app or the HP website, check for updates and install any available firmware updates.

Kindly check the next steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
