Hi @AZDAVE1

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you are unable to connect the PC to the scanner on window 10 with LAN. I would request you to follow these steps to resolve the 'Computer couldn't connect to scanner' error:

Validate Printer Settings

  • Confirm the printer is connected to the correct network.
  • Printer Control Panel → Setup → Network/Wireless Settings
  • Run Wireless Setup Wizard if available
  • Verify network configuration matches your LAN

Update Printer Driver

Print Network Configuration Report

  • Helps identify network status and connectivity issues.
  • Printer Control Panel → Print Reports → Network Configuration Report
  • Review IP address, connection type, and errors

Run Windows Update

  • Updates may resolve compatibility issues.
  • Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update
  • Install all available updates

Reset Printer Network Settings

  • Restoring defaults can clear persistent issues.
  • Printer Control Panel → Setup → Network Settings → Restore Defaults
  • Reset network settings
  • Reconnect printer to LAN

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
