Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I'm having an issue with the scanning feature on my HP Photosmart 5520 printer.

When I scan a document to a sd memory card then it is given a wrong date and time.

How can I set the time and date in my printer.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

Try the steps recommended below.

Write down the IP address of the printer
Type the IP of the printer into the address bar of your preferred browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc)
Press Enter to access the EWS (embedded web server) for the printer
Select the Settings tab at the top
Click the checkbox at the bottom for "Use the same time zone set on this computer" and click Apply

HP Embedded Web Server, selected "settings", next "preferences", next "date & time", next checked the box " Sync with this computer's date and time settings".

Keep me posted, how it goes!

thank you for your answer.

I have done the steps that you recommended, accessed the EWS of the printer (I did not know the posibility)

I have set the language of the EWS to English for your understanding ( normally it is in Dutch)

Selected "settings" and  "preferences" but there is no date or time setting.    see  screenprint below.

I  hope you do have more hints, awaiting your respons.

Thanks for the reply,

Let's update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-5520-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5157533/document...

Restart the printer.

If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-photosmart-5520-e-all-in-one-printer-s... to download and install the HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Hello,

I have tried to update the printer firmware, but it was already up to date.

I have uninstall and deleted all HP drivers and software as recommended in points 1 to 12.

Dowload and installed the software in your link.

Started PC and printer again, but sorry to tell you that the time and date setting of the printer is still wrong.

A scan to the SD memmorycard  in the printer gets the wrong time and date on the scanned file.

It is not a big problem , because if I scan from the PC the file gets the right time/day.

But I am very curious about the solution.

Thanks in advance.

happy New Year and the best wishes.

I have done the "semi-full" reset on the printer,  as mentioned  in your e-mail, after that I had to do a complete new configuration.

Sorry to say, there is no change in de date and time setting.

example:  real time/date  = 1-1-2018  21:30  the the scanned file has:   22-11-2018  07:53

in the configuration there is also no possibility to set date and time
