I just purchased this today and the first attempt at feeding paper through the document feeder and it jams. There is something holding up the paper and it crumples the edge of the paper. I have attempted to clean everything but this machine is right out of the box. On the left side of the platen there is a sloped plastic frame which is sticky and then there is a plastic flap. Is this supposed to be sticky? And is this what the paper is getting hung up on? This is very frustrating on a brand new machine.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Automatic document feeder does not pick paper or feeds too many sheets and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
