On the website HP does not offer drivers for a HP Scanjet G4010 under Windows 11. Which alternative drivers should I install to make the scanner work under Windows 11?
By the way, it works under MacOS Catalina (10.15.7) although HP does not provide drivers for anything higher than 10.14.

I see that you are facing an issue with scanning software for your scanjet device.
Please follow the below steps to fix the issue.
Use Windows Update: Sometimes Windows Update can provide drivers for older hardware. Check for updates and see if a compatible driver is offered.
Windows 10 Drivers: Try installing the Windows 10 drivers for the HP Scanjet G4010. Many times, drivers for Windows 10 will work on Windows 11, especially if the hardware hasn’t changed.
- Go to the HP website or use a third-party site that archives drivers.
- Download the Windows 10 driver and try installing it in compatibility mode (right-click the installer, select "Properties," go to the "Compatibility" tab, and choose "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 10").
Generic Scanner Drivers: Use a generic driver that may offer basic scanning functionality. Some examples are:
- Windows Fax and Scan: This built-in app in Windows can sometimes recognize and work with scanners using generic drivers.
- NAPS2: This open-source scanning application can sometimes interface with scanners that don’t have specific drivers for newer operating systems.
