I want to give up my commercial eFax company if my HP eFax will serve in its stead, but I am unsure of its equivalency and operability. I have a dedicated fax phone number connected to my HP printer. Is there a "dashboard" for my HP printer where I can see online received faxes, open and read them, and instruct the printer to print them out, if I wish? Is there an online "dashboard" where I can create the fax message and instruct it to be sent via my HP printer? If there is such a dashboard, am I able to instruct it to notify me by SMS or email of faxes received? What is my HP Office Jet Pro 6978 capable of doing with respect to eFaxes and integration with my Macbook Pro Apple laptop via wireless connection? How can I learn to use it properly to send and receive eFaxes? Thank you.

Just so I understand  because it sounds like you have a phone line connected to your device? If yes you currently do not have a pure Efax solution. A true Efax solution is one where your received faxes are typically emailed to you and to send a fax you email the document to a system that then converts and faxes it for you.  HP does offer Efax services but in most cases this is still a subscription based service that you will pay for.

How do I find information about the HP eFax service? I am currently paying $25/mo for 500 pages/month and am very satisfied with its user interface, but I was hoping to reduce my costs. I have found online other vendors in the $10/mo range. Looking forward to hearing from you.
