Product: HP 8600 Officejet Pro
Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

Recently updated to Mohave on macbook pro and have the same error message others have.  I am directly connected to the printer.  I could print from scanning menu on computer once, but not any longer.  This is very frustrating!

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Removing the existing Scanner Application and then installing HP Easy Scan may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) Open Finder, click Applications.

2.) Delete the existing HP scanner applications by moving it to trash.

3.) Download and install HP Easy Scan from here.
