fax issues on HP 6970

new issue:

attempting to fax...however after placing several sheets into the top guide - they do not feed through once the dialed number connects.

i successfully scanned a page to ensure that the feed is working.

what can i try next?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Have you tried using the flatbed to send one-page fax and check if that works?

If you are able to scan from the automatic document feeder, it means that the feeder is working fine.

Try feeding one paper from the feeder and check if that works to isolate the issue.

Update the printer firmware

Run a fax test on the printer

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Tools > Run fax test
