Hi @quirk2

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check the Fax Connection:

  • Ensure that the fax line is properly connected to the printer. Check both ends of the phone line to make sure they are securely plugged in.

2. Inspect the Printer Components:

  • Open the printer and check that all removable components (like toner cartridges, fuser, and paper trays) are properly seated.
  • Remove and reseat the toner cartridge:
    • Power off the printer, remove the toner cartridge, and then reinsert it firmly.

3. Check for Paper Jams:

  • Inspect the printer for any paper jams or obstructions that could interfere with its operation.

4. Run a Printer Self-Test:

  • Power on the printer and run a self-test or configuration page:
    • This can often be done through the control panel under the Reports menu.
  • Check if the self-test indicates any specific issues.

5. Reset the Printer:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.

6. Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP support website. USe this link, Click HERE

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
