Many of the options on my touch screen are grayed out.  I get a message that the feature has been locked by the person that set up the printer.  I'm the only one using the printer and don't remember locking anything when setting it up nor since.  I tried rebooting it and also tried resetting factory defaults but the option to do that is also grayed out.  What next?  Thanks!

New printer. Want to scan to email. Document won't open. Need to save first, then open. Would like to open in one step. Printer has message under fax set up that feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer. Does this have anything to do with scanning? Don't need to fax.

This is the private msg I got from support.   It worked for me.
Here's the instructions I received from support:
 
Re: features are locked

Thanks for waiting. Let's try these steps -

 

Support Menu >Resets Menu>Semi-Full Reset

  1. While applying power, press and hold Power button for 5 sec.
  2. Press BL, BL, BL, BL Buttons, in sequence. Note - BL is the bottom left or the Back icon. Continue to tap on it even when it is not illuminated. 
  3. Touch Support Menu.
  4. Press Right arrow for Reset Menu and Touch OK.
  5. Press Right arrow for Semi-Full Reset and Touch OK.
  6. Wait for unit to Power Down/Turn Off.
  7. Press Power button to turn the Printer On.

I have an 8035.  They did tell me the instructions were specific for my model.  Perhaps you have a different model?
