Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to get the scanner function to work on my Windows 10 Home machine (64 bit version 2004). 

It used to work but I had to rebuild the OS from scratch ( a VERY long story that I will not bore you with here).  

I can print fine but the scanner is not recognized.   I have run the HP Print and Scan doctor and it says "The full software solution for your product is not installed on this computer"  There is a big blue button that says "Get Installer" but that takes me to  the customer support page.  I have tried downloading all various drivers (for example HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit)) but no luck. 

Any thoughts?

The Serial number is CNRK154027,  it is an LaserJet 3055  AIO. The firmware is 20120924 which is the latest.
Here is some more info: working with HP tech support they have told me that none of the current downloadable drivers support the full functionality of the 3055... Nothing they can do. EOS.

However before the upgrade of Windows 10 (64bit) from  release 1501 to 2004, which resulted in a complete down to the metal reinstall of Windows 10  (hard to totally reformat the SSD drive...long long story),  the same printer and PC ran the scanner function fine.  So it is my belief is that the drivers that were on the machine and being used by the 1501 release did contain the software needed.   

I would restore the machine back to release 1501 but my backup of the 1501 release is corrupted so that is not an option. 
( I learnt years ago that it takes a concatenation of failures to causes a disaster.... in my case upgrade totally corrupts hard drive (its an SSD!) which then needs the drive to be totally reformatted, the system image backup is also unreadable so I have to restore from a clean ISO image...which does not seem to have the same drivers...sigh!!) 

It goes to show you can't have too many backups!   
 

I believe if there was a way I could get those drivers back and install them all would be well.  This of course assumes that those drivers would work on release 2004, clearly not guaranteed but worth a shot!
