Hi @jamesadick

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To use the flatbed scanner on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035, follow these steps:

Scanning Using the Flatbed:

Prepare the Document:

  • Place the document face down on the flatbed scanner glass. Align it with the corner markers (usually in the top left corner).

Power On the Printer:

  • Make sure your OfficeJet Pro 8035 is powered on and connected to your computer or network.

Access the Control Panel:

  • On the printer's touchscreen, tap Scan.

Select Scan To Option:

  • Choose where you want to send the scanned document. You can select options like Email, USB, or Computer.

Select the Type of Scan:

  • Choose the desired scan settings (e.g., color, file type) by tapping on Settings or Options (if available).

Start Scanning:

  • Once you’ve set your preferences, tap Scan to start the scanning process.

Save or Send the Scanned Document:

  • If you’re scanning to a computer, the document will typically be saved in the designated folder (often the Documents folder or a folder specified in your scanning software).

Scanning Using the HP Smart App:

If you prefer using your computer or mobile device to scan:

Download the HP Smart App:

  • Install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device if you haven't done so already.

Open the App:

  • Launch the HP Smart app and make sure your printer is selected.

Select Scan:

  • Click on Scan from the app's main screen.

Choose the Flatbed Scanner:

  • In the scan settings, select Flatbed if prompted.

Adjust Settings:

  • Adjust the scan settings as needed (file type, color, resolution).

Start Scanning:

  • Click Scan to start scanning. The scanned document will be saved based on your settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
