Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I don't see an option to save scans as pdf.  can this machine do it or do I have to convert a different file format to it?

I never work with 8028, but i think that all HP printers are similar. You should install full feature driver pack for this printer (for example for this place

, which include HP Scan or HP SMART - both of this programs have an option like Scan To PDF.

Yes you fixed my problem.  After I read your post, I realized I had to download all the software.  Pain in the butt!  My older units I bought in years ago came with software on disk.  Now they make you download to save money.
