If the printer is on the network, use the Embedded Web Server to set / sync the date and time.

General Example

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Settings > Preferences > Date & Time

Sync Now to sync the date and time to the computer

and / or

Use a Time Server to sync the date / time to an "atomic" clock service

EWS_8740_Date-Time_1EWS_8740_Date-Time_1

Caveat

The "8710" is the "little brother" in the 8700 series.

The setup (even in the EWS) may be slightly different.

If the Date setting is not where shown in the example -- and / or if the setup works differently -- try to extrapolate what you need and set the synchronization / date-time as necessary for your printer.
