Hi @Jim2742,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Scanning a double-sided document depends on whether your HP printer supports automatic duplex scanning or only has a flatbed scanner.

If Your Printer Has an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) with Duplex

  1. Load the Document
    • Place the double-sided pages in the ADF.
    • Make sure the pages are aligned and the duplex option is supported.

  2. Open HP App
  3. Enable Two-Sided Scanning
    • In scan settings, look for the Duplex or Two-Sided option.
    • Select Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge as needed.

  4. Scan and Save
    • Start the scan.
    • Save as PDF to keep both sides in one file.

If Your Printer Only Has a Flatbed (No Duplex ADF)

  • You’ll need to scan manually:
    1. Scan the first side and save it.
    2. Flip the page and scan the second side.
    3. Use HP Smart or another PDF tool to combine both scans into one file.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
