Hi @Reschny,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To scan from your HP Smart Tank 6001 All-in-One printer to your computer, follow these steps.
For Windows:
Install HP Smart App:
- If you haven't installed it yet, download and install the HP Smart app from the HP website or Microsoft Store.
Open HP Smart App:
- Launch the HP Smart app on your computer.
- Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
Add your Printer:
- If the printer is not already added, click on the "+" button to add your printer.
Start Scan:
- From the HP Smart home screen, click on Scan.
- Select Scanner or Camera (choose Scanner for scanning directly from the printer).
Adjust Scan Settings:
- Choose options like Document Type (PDF, JPEG, etc.), resolution, color, etc.
Place Document:
- Place the document or photo you want to scan on the printer's scanner glass or into the automatic document feeder (ADF), if available.
Scan:
- Click Scan to begin scanning.
- Once the scan is complete, you can save it to your computer, email it, or print it directly.
For macOS:
Install HP Smart App:
- Download the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store or HP website.
Open HP Smart App:
- Launch the HP Smart app and add your printer if it’s not already added.
Place Document:
- Place the document on the scanner glass or in the automatic document feeder (ADF).
Start Scan:
- Click on Scan in the HP Smart app.
- Adjust settings as needed (document type, resolution, etc.).
Save or Share:
- After the scan is complete, you can save the file to your computer, email it, or share it.
This process should work seamlessly once your printer and computer are properly connected to the same network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
