Hi @CaryB,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Install HP Smart App:

  • Ensure you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device. You can download it from the HP website or your device’s app store.

Place Photos on Scanner Bed:

  • Open the scanner lid.
  • Carefully place multiple photos on the scanner glass. Make sure there's a bit of space between each photo, and none of them overlap.
  • Close the scanner lid gently.

Open HP Smart App:

  • Launch the HP Smart app on your device.
  • Select the scan option in the app interface.

Choose Scan Settings:

  • Select “Photo” as the document type.
  • Adjust any other settings such as resolution as needed for your photos.

Perform the Scan:

  • Start the scanning process by clicking on “Scan.”
  • The app will scan the entire area and may automatically detect and separate the photos into individual files.

Review and Edit:

  • After scanning, review the scanned images.
  • You can adjust individual photos and save them separately as needed.

Using HP Printer Software

Place Photos on Scanner Bed:

  • Open the scanner lid and place your photos with slight spacing between them on the glass.
  • Close the scanner lid.

Open HP Scan Software:

  • Launch the HP Scan software from your computer.

Configure Settings:

  • Choose the appropriate scan settings (like color, resolution, etc.) as per your preference.

Perform the Scan:

  • Initiate the scan process. The software may automatically detect and separate the photos if it's configured for multi-photo scanning.

Save the Scans:

  • Review and edit individual scans if necessary.
  • Save each photo in the format and location you prefer.

I hope this helps.
