Hi @Bob2002,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

It sounds frustrating that your HP Envy 6055e printer is not going to sleep between jobs and is cycling unnecessarily. Let’s work through some steps to help you resolve this issue.

  • Have you recently updated the macOS or any printer-related software that might have affected the printer’s behavior?
  • Are there any specific tasks or settings you’re using that seem to trigger the printer to cycle?
  • Have you checked the printer settings in both the printer’s control panel and the HP Smart app for sleep or power-saving options?

Let's try these steps.

heck Power Settings

  • On your HP Envy 6055e, navigate to the settings through the control panel (if applicable). Look for any options related to Sleep Mode or Power Saving and ensure that these are enabled. If they are already enabled, try disabling and then re-enabling them to see if that resets the behavior.

Reset the Printer’s Network Connection

  • Disconnect the printer from the Wi-Fi network and reconnect it. This can sometimes clear glitches in communication between the printer and your Mac. Use the printer’s control panel to go to Network Settings and select Restore Network Defaults, then reconnect to your Wi-Fi.

Adjust Sleep Settings in macOS

  • Check your Mac’s system preferences for printer settings. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your HP Envy 6055e, and look for any options regarding sleep or energy-saving settings. Ensure they are configured correctly.

Check for Background Tasks

  • Sometimes, background processes can keep the printer active. Check if there are any print jobs stuck in the queue by going to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, selecting your printer, and clicking on Open Print Queue. Clear any pending jobs if necessary.

Reinstall the HP Smart App

  • If you are using the HP Smart app, consider uninstalling and reinstalling it. This can refresh its settings and might resolve issues with printer behavior. After reinstalling, reconnect the printer and check if the sleep issue persists.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
