Hi @Print_Shengena5,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Scanner Error 13" on an HP printer typically indicates an issue with the scanner functionality. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Physical Obstructions:

  • Make sure there are no physical obstructions blocking the scanner mechanism or the scanning bed.
  • Check for any loose parts or foreign objects inside the printer.

Reset the Printer:

  • Some HP printers have a reset option in the menu. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP official website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer model. If there are updates, download and install them following the provided instructions.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and reinstall them. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.

Check Connection Cables:

  • Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to your computer or network are securely plugged in. If using a USB connection, try a different USB port.

Perform a Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and disconnect any other cables.
  • Wait for a few minutes before plugging the printer back in and turning it on.

Verify Network Connection (if applicable):

  • If your printer is connected to a network, ensure that the network connection is stable.

Remember to consult your printer's user manual for specific instructions related to your model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
