Hi,
I've upgraded my PC from Vista to Win 10. I was using software called "HP Scan" on my old computer and when scanning using the sheet feeder, whilst it didn't support double sided scanning, it would allow me to turn my scanned pages over for scanning when side 1 had finished, then the software would intelligently put the pages in order for saving to PDF.
Now on Windows 10 I have "HP Scan and Capture" and whilst it allows me to select "double sided scanning", it doesn't allow me to turn the pages over after side 1 has been scanned and the end result is that if I want to scan several sheets on both sides, I either need to do them one at a time, or I need to have all of the reverse side scans at the end of the PDF that is created, thus meaning the document isn't in logical correct order.
Is there any way around this?
Thanks,
John

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
You should be able to use the software wirelessly.
Have you installed the FULL feature software?
Is your printer a HP Photosmart 7510 or HP Officejet 7510?
Can you dowload the FUll feature software for your printer?
Use this wizard to help you:
HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL50403/mp-150580-2/hppiw.exe
Hope that helps.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP forum.
Try this alternative software:
HP Scan Extended
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Let us know if that works.

Hi,
Thanks for that advice. I've downloaded that and attempted to run the software but it says "The HP Imaging Device was not found". I connect wirelessly to my printer via my router so I guess this software doesn't support that kind of connection? If that is the case I'm happy to look into a wired connection, but wanted to check if there was a way round it first as I will need to do a bit of furniture movement to make it happen.
Many thanks,
John

Thank you so much. That is truly wonderful -- except that it only picked up the Deskjet and not the Laserjet. The Laserjet was hit by lightning and now does not work via the usb cable, only wireless, but a previous post suggested that this would not stop the scan software working.
Is there a way of making the extended scan software pick up the Laserjet please? It does not seem to give me an option to choose a different scanner. The Laserjet is set as the default printer by the way.
I've not tried unplugging the deskjet and rerunning the installation software.

Hi @Picasso007
Glad to hear that your issue is resolved and all is working well now.
It may not recognize the Laserjet as a scanner. HP Scan Extended is more for the newer printers and some older printers but not all.
Thanks.
Have a nice day!
