macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hello

My HP envy 4502 scan edit was working fine on OS monteray. Since update to version 20.1 the scan edit button does not work at all on OS monteray. Tried this on another mac with OS tahoe install and the scan edit button works allowing edits.

How can I reinstal version 18.10 to my mac with OS monteray?

I understand you're experiencing issues with the Scan Edit button in the HP Smart app version 20.1 on macOS Monterey for your HP Envy 4502 printer. Let's go through some steps to address this problem.

 

1. Reinstall HP Smart Version 18.10

To reinstall HP Smart version 18.10 on your Mac running macOS Monterey:

Uninstall the Current Version:

Open Finder.

Navigate to the Applications folder.

Locate HP Smart and drag it to the Trash.

Empty the Trash to complete the uninstallation.

Download Version 18.10:

Visit the HP Smart download page and search for your printer model (HP Envy 4502).

Look for HP Smart version 18.10 under the macOS section.

Download the installer.

Install Version 18.10:

Open the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the application.

Connect Your Printer:

Ensure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.

Open HP Smart and add your printer if it's not automatically detected.

 

2. Use HP Easy Scan as an Alternative

If the Scan Edit feature remains unresponsive:

Download HP Easy Scan:

Visit the Mac App Store and search for HP Easy Scan.

Download and install the application.

Scan Documents:

Open HP Easy Scan.

Select your HP Envy 4502 printer.

Choose your desired scan settings and scan your document.

Edit Scanned Documents:

After scanning, you can edit the document using the built-in editing tools in HP Easy Scan or export it to another application for further editing.

 

3. Check for macOS Compatibility

Ensure that your macOS Monterey version is compatible with the HP Smart app:

HP Smart version 20.1 may have compatibility issues with certain versions of macOS Monterey.

If possible, consider updating to a newer version of macOS that may offer better compatibility with the HP Smart app.

Hi Kuroi,

Thank you fo ryour reply, Unfortunately. the apple app store does not give the option to download version !8.10. ( ie previous version not like with apple apps where you can) No where can I find version 18.10 to install.

 

HP Smart download page does not list any apple OS to select ( only caters for windows and lunix )

 

HP smart was woring fine but after the auto update when i launch  HP smart app, there is now not adit and the auto and apply buttons are missing.,  then its frozen

 

Where can I find version 18.10 to download please.

 

Hp scan easy does not have all the fratures I need.
