Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. can i get it to scan since i now have windows 11, i have tried all the recomended trouble shooting

basically i got the scanner to work by going to the microsof app store and downloading a microsoft app to do scanning, i do not need the printer i just wanted the scanner, it seems like hp is mostly concerned with selling ink and selling post warranty help desk support and not really standing behind the product no matter how old it might be.

I see that you would like to scan from the computer. You may use the HP Scan and Capture app or the HP Smart app to scan.

Download this app from the Microsoft Store.

I understand how you feel. If the printer is out of warranty, you will have to pay for the support. If it was under warranty, there would be no charge for support from HP.
