Hi @maddox3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

To set up the scanner on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 printer, follow these steps:

Step 1: Install the HP Smart App

Download HP Smart:

  • On Windows or macOS: Visit HP Smart App and download the app.
  • On Android or iOS: Install the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Open HP Smart and sign in (or create an account).

Step 2: Connect the Printer

  1. Open the HP Smart app and click Add Printer.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer via Wi-Fi or USB.
  3. Once connected, your printer should appear on the HP Smart home screen.

Step 3: Set Up the Scanner

  1. On the HP Smart home screen, select Scan.
  2. Choose whether you want to scan using the Document Feeder (ADF) or the Flatbed Scanner.
  3. Set the scan preferences, including resolution, color settings, and file format.

Step 4: Test a Scan

  1. Place a document or photo on the scanner glass or in the document feeder.
  2. Click Scan in the HP Smart app.
  3. Preview the scan, and make adjustments if needed.
  4. Save the scan to your desired location or share it.

Let me know if you run into any specific issues during setup!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
