Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended
HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdwg
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My MFP 3302 no longer copies or scans. When looking in the jobs queue, an old copy job from March 2025 (!!) is listed, which cannot be cancelled via the display or the web interface. Strangely, the old job persists even after rebooting / unplugging the printer for >30sec.

Does anyone have any idea how to cancel the job, or if anything else is not working/can be done?

At the moment I don't want to do a hard reset, as that would mean completely reconfiguring the printer and the fax functionality, which I need my son to do, but he's out of the country at the moment.

Thanks very much.

Hi @CrazyCatWoman,

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Clear the Print Queue:

  • Sometimes, clearing the print queue can resolve the problem. On your computer, go to Devices and Printers, find your printer, and right-click to open the queue. Try to cancel all jobs.

Power Reset:

  • Unplug your printer from power and leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds. Then, plug it back in and try again. This can sometimes reset internal issues.

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates for your specific printer model.

Factory Reset:

  • If the issue persists, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer. This option is available in the printer's menu, but be sure to back up your settings if possible.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Kuroi, I already did all that, apart from the factory reset, prior to posting the help request. There is no job in the Windonws queue, but there is one in the printer queue, which stays there even after rebooting the printer.

After your message, I also did a factry reset, which cleared the queue at first, but the first attempt to copy a page resulted in this job reappearing (with a date of march (!!!), although the time and date of the printer is set correctly to may). Now, the printer is again blocked for copying and scanning. In essence, the factory reset did not solve the issue either. As it stands, the printer is completely unusable. Kindly assist. thanks CCW

Hi @CrazyCatWoman,

Thank you for your detailed follow-up and for trying all the initial troubleshooting steps, I understand how frustrating this must be.

Since the copy job keeps reappearing even after a factory reset, it’s possible that there's a deeper internal error or corruption in the printer’s memory. Here are a few additional steps that may help resolve the issue:

1. Clear Internal Job Log via Embedded Web Server (EWS):

If the job is stored in non-volatile memory, try this:

Make sure the printer is connected to the same network as your PC.

In a browser, go to the printer’s IP address (you can find this on the printer's network settings).

Go to Settings > Job Storage or Advanced Settings > Print/Clear Stored Jobs.

Try manually clearing any persistent jobs from there.

2. Disable “Quick Copy” or “Job Storage” (if available):

Sometimes jobs get stuck in internal memory if stored in "Quick Copy" mode.

On the printer menu, go to Copy Settings or Job Storage Settings.

Disable any feature related to Job Storage, Quick Copy, or Stored Jobs.

3. Time/Date Mismatch Bug Fix:

Since the stuck job is showing a date from March, it may be tied to a bug.

Manually set the printer to an incorrect date (e.g., Feb 2025).

Reboot the printer.

Then reset it back to the correct time and date.

Check if the job still returns or clears properly.

I hope this helps.

Hi Kuroi,

thanks for the further help.

Re 1, as far as i was able to find such a setting, there was nothing to cancel/delete.

Re 2, could not find something as described.

Re 3, set it to Feb, rebooted and set it back, but it did not help. A copy job initiated still hands and nothign happens.

The new job again has the date of 21 March.

Interestingly, I noticed that print jobs (which go out as usual) also have a date of 21 March in the log, although both the PC and the Printer are set to the correct date (May). So it seems there is a general mismatch between the date a job is/should be executed, and the date the printer "assumes".

Not sure if this helps.

Long story short, I still cannot copy or scan (and thus fax), which sort of defeats the point of having a multi function printer.

If we cannot resolve this issue online/with software, the question is if a service visit can be booked for a servicve technician to come on site, or alternatively (if there cannot be a visit) the printer can be sent in to HP.

Thanks again,

CCW

Dear,

I had a similar problem with the scan function of my HP printer.  After a lot of investigation and trying things out, I found most problems are caused by the printer going into sleep mode too quickly.

My problem was solved completely by changing the energy settings of the printer.

Go to EWS.  Then under general->power settings-> energy settings set "sleep after inactivity" to 30 minutes and "inactivity shutdown" to 1 hours.

Cheers,
